NASCAR anyone?

Yesterday Jeff, my sisters and I took a trip up to Fontana's Auto Club Speedway to race real life NASCAR'S. Now we aren't huge NASCAR fans but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to drive fast. My sister did a ride along and Jeff got to drive one all by himself. I have to admit I was a little worried about the love of my life driving upwards of 150 mph but he did good :)

Showing off his easy access whole in is race suit-boys will be boys :)
Dang dust on my lens!
Getting in for his ride
That's him driving around the track
Back safely!
One happy boy!

If you like to drive fast I would definitely recommend trying this out! Hope you had a great weekend!

Being thankful

Sometimes it's hard to be thankful. After losing my brother in May and my Aunt in September I try everyday to be thankful for all I have. It has made me realize how short life is and how fast it can pass. I miss them tremendously. Connor (my brother) was way too young. He brought so much joy to our family. I do have to say that through his illness it has brought our family closer, and for that I am thankful.

I am thankful for my nephew, who constantly cracks everyone up. And who at Thanksgiving dinner, while I was praying, yelled out "Auntie Cherie" (in his most monster like voice). It has keep us laughing all weekend.

I am thankful for the moments we shared. Just hanging out, being goofy, and laughing.

So remember to make sure all the people you love know it. Spend time with them and take lots of pictures ☺ You never know how things may change.

Well....

I'm super bummed today :( my dad called me last night to tell me my aunt had passed away. After being with her just a week ago I thought she had more time. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I'm so thankful we were able to go see her while she was still alive and feeling well enough to make us laugh. Since we were just there my sister and I can't make it back for the services.

We have to be thankful for the times we did have with her and remember to enjoy our loved ones while their here.

Home Again

Last week my Dad, sister and I took a last minute trip to Arkansas to visit my sick aunt. She is not doing well so we went to see her before anything bad happens. It had been at least a year since I had seen her and my uncle so it was a great trip!

Being born and raised in Cali I had my ideas about AR. And yes there are some redneck Larry the Cable Guy type of people there, but not as many as expected :)everyone was super nice! It's so much greener there than I would have ever thought. My aunt wanted to make sure we saw some sights while we were there so we checked out a few sights. I even got a Little shopping in ;)

We drove there and it just so happens that Albuquerque NM is a half way point between home and my aunts. That worked out really well because on of my besties, Veronica, lives there. We go to see her going and coming. The first night we saw her she cooked us a yummy dinner. The second time we went out for dinner and drinks. It was great to see her!

I'm currently working on a mini album for he trip so I will post pics as soon as I get it done. Have a great week everyone!

Thankful

Today I am feeling very thankful for everything I have in my life. This past weekend an old neighbor of mine lost her husband. My heart is broken for her and their 2 boys. I can't even imagine how hard it is for her right now.

It makes me realize how fast things can change and that no matter if we're having a bad day or even PMS ;) we need to appreciate everyday we have with or loved ones!

Love these crazy kids!

I love holidays!!!

Ahhh 4th of July...what a wonderful day! Holidays are the best. I love spending time with friends and family especially when I get to have parties. This year we just stayed home and had a small little pool party. Here are some pictures:

My cutie little sugarplum. He loved his hat!

So here is my crazy husband. Yes people he set up his 11 foot scaffolding next to our pool to jump off of. Give a man some tools and he turns them into toys!

Danielle and I swimming. It appears that Jeff is practicing his karate moves in the back ground.

Connor-man! My not-so-little brother...he's like 6'2"!

I hope everyone had a great 4th and a great week. Check back soon for some layouts. I've been in a funk the past couple of weeks but getting back in the grove. I will post my challenge pages too. Tell next time enjoy life!

Monday already!?!?

I swear I blinked and then it was Monday again! Life is just passing me by way too fast these days. Anyone see the season finally of Grey's Anatomy? It really made me think about how fast things in life can change. So I'm trying to have fun and not take the little things too seriously. I believe we should all try to enjoy life as much as we can and just have fun! Right now my dad and brother are in Alaska. I was really nervous for them to go (especially Connor) but the more I thought about it the more I realized they just need to have fun. I hope they have the best time and really bond.

Sunday we went to my mom's for a celebration. My sister, Renee, and her family got baptized so we had a lunch for them. Jeff and Riley had such a good time. They got into a water fight. Riley just adores him!

Here's Maylee and I...she is getting so big!

Drum roll please...here is a picture of this weeks challenge. It was the first time I ever used my sewing machine to stitch on a layout. Super fun!

Phew...

what a busy weekend! The sports bar Jeff has been working on for a year finally opened! It was so exciting to see it full of people. I am so proud of him it is a huge accomplishment in his career!

These are a few pics from the soft opening. Both our family's were there and we all had a good time! So Sunday Jeff got done early at work because he can't really work while they are open. He had no clue to do with himself! So what better to do than lie on the ground in the back yard!?!? Poncho was a little weired out by this and stood by him the whole time (see they love each other).

As soon as I got my camera and started to take a picture of Jeff sleeping Poncho had to jump right in on the action. He would not get out of the pictures, what a little ham! Well I hope all of you had a great weekend too!
